In this condition, which is caused by overactivity of the sympathetic nervous system and is typically seen as excessive sweating on the hands, armpits, face, and feet, occurring with a frequency of approximately one to three per thousand in society, complaints increase during summer. While stimuli for sweating include factors such as increased ambient temperature and mental stress, sweating on the hands is not dependent on ambient temperature increases. The amount of sweat can reach up to 2 liters per day. The sweat gland contracts 6 times per minute to expel the fluid within. If this condition affects a person&#8217;s daily activities, psychological state, and social life\u2014that is, if they hesitate to shake hands, meet people, cannot hold a pen, or cannot use hand tools\u2014it must definitely be treated. There are various treatment methods for the disease. In this article, prescribed by physicians in Germany,<strong>ALUMINUM<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;CHLORIDE<\/strong>prepared with<strong>Gel &#8211; Solution &#8211; Viscous Solution<\/strong>forms containing 15% and 20% aluminum chloride, we will examine three formulations below.<strong>Moving on to the formulas; the first formula is in GEL form<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1-Hydrophilic Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate Gel 15%\/20% (NRF 11.24.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;15%&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;20%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aluminum chloride hexahydrate&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;15.0 g &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;20.0 g<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hydroxyethylcellulose 400&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;5.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 5.0 g<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Distilled water&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ad&nbsp; 100.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ad 100.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>Since this formula contains 5% hydroxyethylcellulose,<strong>GEL<\/strong>it is considered to be in the form of a gel. When the particles or molecules in a colloidal dispersion completely trap the dispersion medium between them, the liquid turns into a semi-solid state. This state is called the gel state. They are not stable systems. A methylcellulose colloidal solution gels when heated and dissolves in the cold. Gelling agents are generally hydrophilic in nature. Carbopol, methylcellulose, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, agar, bentonite, Re\u015fadiye clay, and gelatin are the most commonly used ones.<strong>Preparation of solutions of Methylcellulose (Macromolecules), which can be referred to as semi-synthetic gums;<\/strong>Since methylcellulose is a hydrophilic colloid, it dissolves slowly as its fiber layers become wetted. Its solutions can be prepared most easily as follows: 1\/3 of the required water is heated to 80\u201390 degrees. It is mixed with methylcellulose. It is left to stand for half an hour. The remaining water is added cold and mixed thoroughly. As the liquid cools down (10 \u00b0C), it becomes clear and dissolution is complete. This prevents clumping and facilitates dissolution. Heating the water will help all the fibers to wet in a short time.<\/p>\n<p>If we examine the hydroxyethylcellulose used in this formula;<strong>&nbsp;Hydroxyethylcellulose, cellosize, natrosol;<\/strong>Hydroxyethyl cellulose is available as a white, yellowish-white, or grayish-white, odorless, hygroscopic powder or granules. It belongs to the group of synthetic or semi-synthetic gums. It dissolves in hot and cold water to form colloidal solutions. It is practically insoluble in acetone, anhydrous alcohol, ether, toluene, and other organic solvents. The pH of its 1% aqueous dispersion is between 5.5 and 8.5. It is used to enhance the stability and viscosity of pharmaceutical preparations.<strong>Aluminium chloride hexahydrate,<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Aluminium chloratum cristallisatum, Aluminiumtrichlorid-6-Wasser, Aluminium chloride hexahydrate<\/strong>; Aluminium chloride is an antiperspirant used in the treatment of hyperhidrosis (exhibiting an action that inhibits sweat secretion). Usually, 20% alcoholic solutions are prepared. Its mechanism of action can be explained by metal ions binding to the sweat duct, penetrating into the duct, gelling there due to the local pH, and plugging the sweat duct through the astringent (constricting) effects of the metal ions. The plug inside the sweat duct remains effective for 7\u201314 days, and this effect;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the skin&#8217;s self-renewal rate,<\/li>\n<li>On the individual&#8217;s hygiene habits,<\/li>\n<li>On the individual&#8217;s activity level,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although it varies depending on these factors, it must be used continuously for 10 days to achieve maximum efficacy; when discontinued after 10 days, it has been observed that the effect disappears completely by day 14.<strong>Preparation of the formula;<\/strong>The calculated distilled water is divided into two equal parts; while aluminium chloride is dissolved in one part, hydroxyethyl cellulose is sprinkled onto the other part of the distilled water and allowed to swell and form a gel. After approximately 1\u20132 hours, the two solutions are combined. Care should be taken to ensure the total mass is 100 g.<\/p>\n<p>The preparation can be stored for 1 year in tightly closed dark glass containers protected from light.<strong>Our second formula is a solution containing propyl alcohol.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2-Propanol-containing aluminium chloride hexahydrate solution 15%\/20% (NRF 11.1.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;15%&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 20%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aluminium chloride hexahydrate&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;15.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 20.0 g&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Distilled water&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;15.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 20.0 g<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2-Propanol&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ad 100.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ad 100.0 g<\/strong>.<strong>primary propyl alcohol, propyl alcohol, propanolum<\/strong>; Propyl alcohol is an agent with antiseptic and disinfectant actions. Like alcohol, it is used for the antisepsis of hands and skin, and for the disinfection of surfaces and instruments. The preparation can be stored protected from light in glass bottles for 3 years.<strong>Preparation of the formula;<\/strong>Aluminium chloride hexahydrate is dissolved in distilled water and the preparation is brought to final weight with the addition of propyl alcohol. Care must be taken to ensure the total solution weighs 100 g.<strong>Our third formula is in the form of a viscous solution.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3-Viscous Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate Solution 15%\/20% (NRF 11.132.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;15%&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;20%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aluminium chloride hexahydrate&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 15.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;20.0 g<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hydroxyethylcellulose 400 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;2.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;2.0 g<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Distilled water&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ad&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 100.0 g&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;ad&nbsp; 100.0 g<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation of the formulation;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>While aluminium chloride hexahydrate is dissolved in half of the calculated distilled water, hydroxyethylcellulose is sprinkled over the other portion of distilled water and allowed to swell and form a viscous solution. Care should be taken to ensure that the total mass is 100 g.<\/p>\n<p>Our third and final formula, which is a viscous (slow-flowing) solution, can be stored in glass bottles for 1 year.<\/p>\n<p>All three formulas, whose various pharmaceutical applications we have seen above, are mostly applied to dry skin at bedtime and washed off in the morning before the sweat glands become fully active. Recommended to be applied every other day for 1-2 weeks, this formula should then be applied once a week, and depending on the response achieved, the duration of treatment should be extended up to six months.<\/p>\n<p>We must remember that the effect of these formulas is short-term. They are used especially in the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) on the hands, feet, and underarms. Aluminium chloride is a strong acid that is soluble in water and ethanol. Therefore, it is a potent irritant. Aluminium chloride may cause irritation, especially when applied to damp skin; this effect occurs due to the formation of hydrochloric acid. Since an alcoholic solution is less irritating, absolute alcohol 95% v\/v is generally preferred in the formulas.
