Dear Colleagues, in this article you will find the fourth and final part of the SPIRITUS CRINALIS series, which I began publishing three weeks ago. From this premise, we must never conclude that there are no other options in the treatment of TINEA CAPITIS (RINGWORM) besides these four formulas.<\/p>\n

MAGISTRAL FORMULAS are an ART OF TREATMENT that demonstrates superiority over officinal preparations with dosage adjustments tailored completely to the disease and the patient, various combinations, and diverse formula options.<\/p>\n

Returning to our formula after this explanation;<\/p>\n

SPIRITUS CRINALIS IV<\/p>\n

Rp.   Mentholi ………………………… 0,2 g<\/p>\n

Acidi salicylici ………………….. 2,0 g<\/p>\n

Resorcini ………………………… 1,0 g<\/p>\n

Olei Ricini …………………………1,0 g<\/p>\n

Spiritus  ( 90% )……………ad 100,0 g<\/p>\n

Used in the formula;<\/p>\n

Menthol; Exhibits a mild antiseptic effect. In this formula, it is preferred due to its vasodilatory effect. By dilating blood vessels, it exerts a counter-irritant (mild skin  inflammation and irritation) effect.<\/p>\n

Acidi salicylici; Has a mild fungicidal effect.<\/p>\n

Resorcini; Effective against bacteria and fungi.<\/p>\n

Olei Resorcini (Castor Oil); It is an emollient. (An effect that soothes and softens irritation on the skin and mucous membranes)<\/p>\n

Spiritus (Ethyl alcohol); Possesses antibacterial properties. Included in the formula as a vehicle\/carrier.<\/p>\n

THIS FORMULA SHOULD BE PREFERRED ESPECIALLY  IN THE TREATMENT OF TINEA CAPITIS (RINGWORM) CHARACTERIZED BY ITCHING AND A DRY, BRITTLE HAIR STRUCTURE.<\/p>\n

Preparation; Menthol, salicylic acid, and resorcinol weighed on a watch glass are thoroughly crushed in a mortar, then macerated (softened) with castor oil, after which the formula is completed by the addition of alcohol.<\/p>\n

Storage; Should be stored in a dark-colored glass bottle at room temperature.<\/p>\n

Directions for Use; It is rubbed into the affected area of the scalp in the morning and evening using a cotton ball with circular motions until the area turns slightly red. It should be kept in mind that hair roots can be damaged by excessive rubbing.<\/p>\n
