UNGUENTUM ETHACRIDINI-LIDOCAINI<\/p>\n

Lidocaine and ethacridine ointment – Onguent \u00e0 l’\u00e9thacridine et la lidoca\u00efne<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dear colleagues; this week I will discuss a formula used for minor and moderate burns, in other words, 1st and 2nd degree burns, which promotes burn healing in a very short time with a miraculous effect.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ethacridini lactas  …………………….. 0.07 g<\/p>\n

Lidocaini hydrochloridum ……………. 0.35 g<\/p>\n

Oleum Jecoris aselli ………………….. 7.00 g<\/p>\n

Unguentum simplex ……………ad   70.00 g<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ethacridini lactas, also known as Rivanol, is an antibacterial<\/strong> substance that exhibits a bactericidal effect on many topical bacterial species. Topical Rivanol is used to eliminate germs on the skin or prevent their proliferation. Rivanol acts by disrupting the DNA synthesis of bacteria.<\/p>\n

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic<\/u> medication. Lidocaine is generally used to relieve itching, soothe burning sensations or skin infections, and as an anesthetic in minor surgical procedures or dentistry.<\/p>\n

Oleum jecoris aselli (COD LIVER OIL); is a nutrient source rich in vitamins A and D. It is predominantly obtained from the fresh liver of codfish. Ointments containing cod liver oil are used for various ulcerated superficial wounds.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Unguentum simplex; let us recall the TP (1974) recipe for the simple ointment used as the vehicle (base) in this formula:<\/p>\n

Anhydrous lanolin ………………… 50 g<\/p>\n

Solid paraffin ………………….. 50 g<\/p>\n

Cetostearyl alcohol ……………. 50 g<\/p>\n

White or yellow vaseline …… 850 g<\/p>\n

The ingredients are melted in a water bath and stirred until homogeneous.<\/p>\n

PREPARATION;<\/p>\n

Finely powdered Rivanol and Lidocaine are triturated in a mortar with a small portion of the simple ointment. The cod liver oil and the remaining amount of simple ointment are added gradually to complete the formula.<\/p>\n
