Hospital pharmacy in our country and St. Louis formulas<\/strong>St. Louis is a benchmark hospital in the United States. While this hospital operated as a for-profit institution from 1998 to 2015, in June 2015 it was transferred to the non-profit Catholic healthcare system SSM Health Care, and currently serves as the Saint Louis University School of Medicine Teaching Hospital. It was ranked among the “Best Geriatric Hospitals” in the United States by US News & World Report magazine. St. Louis is an independent city in the state of Missouri, USA, bordered entirely by St. Louis County to the west. The east of the city is bordered by the Mississippi River. The name of the city, sometimes written as Saint Louis, originates from King Louis IX of France. St. Louis Hospital is recognized as one of the landmark hospitals in the US, and the preparations administered to patients here are referred to by the hospital’s name.\"\"Pharmacy services hold a very important place in the tradition of this hospital. Pharmacists working in this hospital participate in clinical research alongside physicians; while formulas developed in the laboratory within the hospital pharmacies are administered by physicians to patients receiving treatment in clinics, the results are evaluated together with pharmacists. In fact, formulas developed here are known by the name of this hospital, and these formulas, used in treatments all over the world, also bring prestige and renown to the hospital. Is there such a hospital in our country(!), I do not know. Now, if you wish, let us examine the perspective of this hospital’s Department of Pharmacy Services on pharmacy services.<\/p>\n

First of all, the mission of the St. Louis Hospital Department of Pharmacy Services is defined as follows: it aims for an approach that provides safe, compassionate, high-quality, professional pharmaceutical care services focused on collaborating with physicians and reducing the financial cost of patient care services.<\/p>\n

The vision of the Department of Pharmacy Services is to achieve high quality standards in pharmacy practice and to be a leader in its field.<\/p>\n

To summarize: The Department of Pharmacy Services aims to implement innovative, adaptable, cost-effective, and evidence-based pharmaceutical care for patients in the hospital and contributes to the realization of the mission established within this framework. Thus, by providing patients with quality pharmaceutical care services, it aims to enhance their quality of life.<\/p>\n

The Hospital Pharmacy Services Department also aims to:<\/p>\n

Train specialized pharmacists in providing multidisciplinary, advanced clinical services.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, by advancing the pharmacist’s role and scope of service within the pharmacotherapy system, this department ensures the safe, effective, timely, and economical use of medications by patients.<\/p>\n

Ensure the accurate preparation, dispensing, and administration of medications to patients by well-trained pharmacists in clinical units.<\/p>\n

When generating medication orders, pharmacists review patient profiles in clinics, make use of statistics, and create accurate order lists. In this way, pharmacists examine and evaluate all medication movements regarding medication orders, dosages, distribution of medications to clinic patients, and medication appropriateness.\"\"In this hospital, pharmacists support clinical pharmacy practices in short by developing treatment protocols, implementing rational treatment policies, and participating in clinical research.<\/p>\n

As an integral part of the healthcare system in preparing medications for patients at Saint Louis University School of Medicine Teaching Hospital, pharmacists;<\/p>\n
