ACETIC ACID-ACETIC ACID-ESSIGSAURE-ACIDE ACETIQUE-GLACIAL ACETIC ACID<\/strong>Acetic acid T.K. is 96%.<\/p>\n

Dilute acetic acid (Dilute acetic acid)-Acide acetic dilue T.K. is 30%.<\/p>\n

It has a sharp odor reminiscent of vinegar. It is miscible with water, alcohol, glycerin, and chloroform. It is a clear, colorless liquid. It is corrosive to metals and tissues. It releases a certain amount of heat when diluted with water. An exothermic reaction occurs. It is also known as cold vinegar acid. It should be stored at room temperature. Inhalation, ingestion, or direct contact with the skin can cause serious injury or even death. It is combustible but does not ignite easily. When heated, its vapors can form explosive mixtures with air. It is in the form of a clear or transparent viscous liquid. It is stored in tightly closed containers. It is a good solvent for fixed and volatile oils and other organic compounds. It is corrosive and flammable. Externally, it is used as an irritant and in liniment form, and its 5-6% solutions are used in alkali poisonings. While it is used as an antibacterial against Haemophilus and Pseudomonas, it also has antifungal, antiprotozoal, and spermicidal effects.<\/p>\n

In vaginal irrigation, shower gels, as an antifungal on skin and nails, expectorant, astringent in topical preparations, in the treatment of warts, in the treatment of calluses (thickening of the skin caused by contact and friction, corns), its diluted solutions are used as an antifungal and antiprotozoal, while it is also used as a caustic and vesicant (blister-forming agent). It has been reported to be effective against jellyfish stings.
\nAt concentrations lower than a 5% solution, it exhibits bactericidal activity at a pH as low as 3, and bacteriostatic activity at a pH between 3 and 6.
\nIf it is to be used in ear drops, it should be diluted to between 1% and 5%.\"\"It is important to work under a fume hood in the laboratory and for staff to wear laboratory goggles against possible accidents.<\/p>\n
