Dear colleagues; this week I will share a formula with you that we can easily prepare in our pharmacies.
This suspension, known as blue water, is used in cases of PYODERMA (inflammatory/purulent skin disease) and INFECTED ECZEMA.
Solution A : 1.Zinci sulfas ………………… 0.1 g
2.Cupri sulfas ………………..0.1 g
3.Aqua q.s. …………………..50.0 ml
Solution B: 4.Borax …………………………1.0 g
5.Acidum boricum …………..1.0 g
6.Aqua q.s. …………………….50.0 ml
Zinci sulfas; It is known as a trace element whose importance in skin health is indisputable. It is included in this formula for its astringent, mild antiseptic, and disinfectant effects.
Cupri sulfas; Also known as blue vitriol / bluestone, it consists of blue crystalline substances. It is a fungicide. As aquarium enthusiasts know very well, its dilute solutions are used in the treatment of parasitic infections in aquarium fish and to eliminate unwanted snails in aquariums. It also acts as an algaecide in swimming pools and inhibits the proliferation of bacteria such as Escherichia coli. It is a fungicide, herbicide, and pesticide.
Borax; This substance, the largest reserves of which are found in our country, is used in cases of eczema and erythema due to its mild antiseptic properties.
Boric acid; It is antiseptic, antimicrobial, mildly bacteriostatic, and fungicidal. It should not be applied to extensive areas of abraded or damaged skin.
Preparation
It is prepared as two separate solutions. Both solutions are stored separately. When ready to use, equal amounts of Solution A and Solution B are mixed together. Shake before use. Suspension – For external use.
