When the origin of Magick
is examined, it is seen to date back to pre-Zoroastrian times.
It is translated into Turkish as magic. However, words derived from this root in other languages also mean sublime, sorcery, magical. In English, magic; in Persian languages, magu can be translated as wisdom.
Historically, those who practiced Magick were called magicians, a term used for individuals who knew how to control their desires, emotions, and thoughts, and did not use their energies for personal gain.
Could our magistral also be the magic of pharmacy?
Considering the importance within the pharmacy of the Magistral art, which makes a very significant contribution to human health, why shouldn’t it be?
Under the requirements for opening a pharmacy in Turkey, a laboratory is mandatory and subject to specific conditions.
Over the years, this compounding area can be forgotten, raw materials can expire and remain idle.
Amid daily worries and hustles, resorting to the easy way out and drifting away from our true essence, we are gradually losing our ability to practice magic.
Of course, there are also pharmacists who practice their art with great pleasure.
We must protect this special section of the pharmacy, which provides professional satisfaction and prestige to the pharmacist, no matter what.
In ancient times, people who gathered plants from nature, crushed, and mixed them to help treat various illnesses — many of whom were women — were accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake during various eras.
Despite everything, the art of pharmacy has sustained itself with science and reason and survived to the present day.
On 05.09.2021, the first ordinary general assembly meeting of the Magistral Pharmacists Association took place.
An important step was taken for Turkish pharmacy.
Pharmacists who gathered in Konya for the same purpose lit the first fire with great excitement to rekindle this field.
This time, it won’t be the magicians who burn!
