Dear colleagues; as you may recall, this formula is the second of the hair ringworm (tinea capitis) formulas, the first of which I published last week. I would like to remind you that it should be shaken vigorously before application.

Rp. Acidi tannici
Balsami peruvani ………… / a.a. 1.0 g
Spiritus ………………………ad. 100.0 g
Acidi tannique T.K., included in the formula, is also known by the synonyms Tannin or Tannic acid. It is used in this formula due to its acidic property.
The other ingredient in the formula, Baume de Perou T.K., should be remembered by the names Peru balsam, Balsam of Peru, or Balsamum peruvianum. It contains resin, essential oil, cinnamic acid, and benzoic acid. It exhibits a mild antiseptic effect due to the cinnamic and benzoic acids it contains.
Preparation of the formula; it should be remembered that this formula, prepared by dissolving tannic acid and Peru balsam in 90% ethanol, should have a total mass of 100.0 g.
The prepared formula should be applied to the affected scalp twice a day, morning and evening, and the preparation should be stored in a cool place in tightly closed, colored bottles protected from light.
