Returning to our formula after this explanation;
SPIRITUS CRINALIS IV
Rp. Mentholi ………………………… 0,2 g
Acidi salicylici ………………….. 2,0 g
Resorcini ………………………… 1,0 g
Olei Ricini …………………………1,0 g
Spiritus ( 90% )……………ad 100,0 g
Used in the formula;
Menthol; Exhibits a mild antiseptic effect. In this formula, it is preferred due to its vasodilatory effect. By dilating blood vessels, it exerts a counter-irritant (mild skin inflammation and irritation) effect.
Acidi salicylici; Has a mild fungicidal effect.
Resorcini; Effective against bacteria and fungi.
Olei Resorcini (Castor Oil); It is an emollient. (An effect that soothes and softens irritation on the skin and mucous membranes)
Spiritus (Ethyl alcohol); Possesses antibacterial properties. Included in the formula as a vehicle/carrier.
THIS FORMULA SHOULD BE PREFERRED ESPECIALLY IN THE TREATMENT OF TINEA CAPITIS (RINGWORM) CHARACTERIZED BY ITCHING AND A DRY, BRITTLE HAIR STRUCTURE.
Preparation; Menthol, salicylic acid, and resorcinol weighed on a watch glass are thoroughly crushed in a mortar, then macerated (softened) with castor oil, after which the formula is completed by the addition of alcohol.
Storage; Should be stored in a dark-colored glass bottle at room temperature.
Directions for Use; It is rubbed into the affected area of the scalp in the morning and evening using a cotton ball with circular motions until the area turns slightly red. It should be kept in mind that hair roots can be damaged by excessive rubbing.
