From a compounder’s perspective, the table we have published is not limited to compounded formulations alone; it is also of significant importance for understanding the role of each component in dermocosmetic products and commercial medications. Thus, knowing the reasons for including excipients in formulations will often provide us with insight into preventing incompatibilities that may arise in the formula, ensuring the stability of the formula, and formulating alternatives if patients using the medication have allergies to these excipients.
